Throughout 2000-01, Dante went trough a rapid succession of axe masters. His last two fret burners "The Mercenary" Greg Franklin and Matt "The Ladies' Choice" McGowan both joined the BDFS, then bought B.C. Rich guitars and shortly thereafter moved down to West Hollywood to pursue their glam rock desires. "These mercenaries would join the Count's band and he would give them the keys that they needed to gain the mount on success," The General said shortly after taking total command of guitars for the BDFS, "then they would leave and go Hollywood. I just want it stated for the record that I am loyal to my commander-in-chief. I will rock alongside the Count and restore honor to the Black Dragon Fighting Society!" After a couple of dates of playing with CD & the BDFS at Stinky's Peep Show, The General has already garnered an intense cult following among leather and denim clad rocker chicks who find his long, glittery blond locks irresistible. These wanton women also see this rugged rock and roll warrior as the real-deal in a scene that is over populated with pretty boy poseurs. Now, with the sudden departure of Ed "Zen Machine" Faine, Dante has tapped his original drummer Jim "Ch'e Power" Henderson for the job of BDFS kit basher. This move greatly boosts the overall sex appeal of Dante's group, as Henderson with his soap opera star good looks will no doubt appeal to the ladies. Rumor has it that the "Zen Machine" is working at a flower stand near San Francisco's Union Square but these stories cannot be confirmed at this time. Dante with his original band is playing a string of shows from San Jose to Santa Rosa that are sure to set dive bar attendance records just as KISS set arena rock attendance records in the late 20th Century! The Sunday April 21st show at the Cactus Club in San Jose is already surrounded by a cloud of ballyhoo with this week's smashing write-up in The Metro - Silicon Valley's Entertainment Weekly! CD & the BDFS is also playing Jesse Jean's in Santa Rosa on Saturday May 4th and Punk Rock Happy Hour at the C.W. Saloon in San Francisco on May 10th. The happy hour show promises to be an all out extravaganza with Sacramento Star Trek punk rock outfit No Kill I and the debut of Goofballs the new band from hardcore guitar legend Bruno DeSmartass of the Sluglords and Flipper! Please check the SCHEDULE PAGE for upcoming BDFS shows coming to a venue near you! |
