WARPED TOUR UPDATE!
FRIDAY THE 13th, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Today is one of those days with
wrestling in the air. This is Milwaukee -- the home of the Crusher.
A brew town full of the kinds of guys who like their hot man on
man action. Sadly, the venue here in Milwaukee is akin to a three-tiered
Fillmore and there is nowhere to set up the ring. Scores of wrestling
fans have been coming up to me, COUNT DANTE, all morning
only to be turned away. It is breaking my heart I am telling you.
The site of a bearded lummox crying because he can't see the
Cruiser duke it out with U.S. Steele is just too much
to bear!!! (Was the pun intended? I can't tell you.)
MORE SAD NEWS: MEXTACY
(he's from Mexico, he's high on extacy) who was definitely ISW's
brightest new star on the Warped Tour, has been sent home
due to a neck injury suffered while training in the ring in Denver.
Young Mextacy suffered from muscle and nerve damage while
taking bumps but a full recovery is expected. Neck injuries are
the scariest injuries that wrestlers face on a day to day basis
and every ISW grappler is glad that Mextacy's wasn't
more severe. It was a sobering moment for us all.
Mextacy had a hot program
going with the dreaded racist skinhead known as the OI BOY
and the raver wrestler even had some wins under his belt. When he
won in Calgary, the fans were chanting his name. We will miss Mextacy
and we all wish him a speedy recovery.
On the brighter side of things,
ISW seems to be building momentum with each show -- especially
now that we are in the Midwest. The crowd in St. Louis was amazing
and the pops for the arm wrestling match between Señor
Bueno and El Pollo Diablo in Kansas City, Kansas were
deafening. As we head to Chicago on Sunday, I am finding more and
more smart fans that are clamouring for El Homo Loco, EPD,
the Sasquatches and the Poon Tangler. It is great
to be wanted and to have the adoration of the fans!
Success, Profit
and Fighting Skill,
Count
Dante
